Vintage Heavy Cast Metal Eagle With Outstretched Wings

This guy is so amazing! Found in a barn, i'm not sure what the original purpose was. It may be cast from some sort of metal (it makes a metal sound if you tap it) but has the appearance of granite or concrete. The shading and patina is fabulous. It is hollow inside and may have been a topper for something. The front says 1776 and there is a smudge of orange paint on the bottom. It is weathered to perfection and would be superb in a garden display or on a shelf, even as a doorstop or front porch guardian. It is heavy and solid.

Measures 6 inches tall, 5.75 inches wide.
