FAQs

What is cotton and rust?

cotton and rust offers a curated collection of vintage and handcrafted home décor that celebrates timeless design, meaningful details, and Southern charm. Every piece is chosen for its story, quality, and ability to make your home feel collected, not decorated. We love to embrace all styles including primitive, bespoke, whimsical, classic, old world, European, Americana, farm, coastal, cottage, etc.

Where do your items come from?

Each piece is carefully sourced from antique markets, small shops, barn sales, estate sales and flea markets. Every item is hand selected by Amy based on craftsmanship, character, and its ability to blend beautifully into a collected home. Amy also strives to maintain an aesthetic her items and creations are known for.

Are your vintage items one of a kind?

Even if an item has been widely produced, I would say YES! Many vintage pieces are one of a kind, full of time worn character and patina only achieved through age and use. Typically the same item will never be found twice. Each item may have slight imperfections or signs of age—those details are what make them special.

Do you offer handmade or new items too?

Alongside vintage finds, cotton and rust periodically creates a selection of handcrafted goods made by Amy. Based on inventory and when inspiration strikes you may find sewn textiles, repurposed pieces, and seasonal décor inspired by a passion for individuality and craftsmanship.

How often do you add new products?

New products are added often with emphasis on seasonally appropriate collections. Small, regular additions or sporadic drops will occur based on inventory and new finds. Please stay connected with us on instagram for release dates!

Can I request a specific type of item or color?

Absolutely! Amy loves the hunt. If you’re looking for something specific, reach out through the contact page with your request, and she’ll keep an eye out during sourcing trips.

What is your return or exchange policy?

Due to the unique nature of vintage and handmade goods, all sales are final. Once an item leaves our possession we are not responsible for damages occurring during shipping. If an item arrives damaged, we are unable to file a carrier claim on your behalf. We carefully pack and ship your package with insurance coverage so that you may potentially file a claim with the carrier if needed. Please reach out to us within three days of receipt of a damaged item if you will need our assistance with anything.

Do you offer shipping or local pickup?

We offer shipping to the continental United States and may be able to offer local pickup in southeast Florida depending on the item. Please send a message if you are interested in local pickup so we can discuss.
